  1. Provide 200 gms vendi/okra
  2. Prepare 2 medium sized potatoes
  3. You need 1 big size onion paste
  4. Take 1 tomato paste
  5. Take 1 teaspoon jeera
  6. Take 1 teaspoon turmeric power
  7. Get 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  8. Prepare 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  9. You need For besara–
  10. Prepare 2 tbsp mustard seeds
  11. Prepare 1/2 tbsp cumin seeds
  12. Use 8-10 garlic pods
  13. Use 2-3 dry red chillis
Steps to make Sorshe vendi /okra besara:
  1. Soak mustard seeds, cumin seeds, garlic pods and dry red chilli for 10-15 min and then grind to paste. Keep the paste (Besara) aside.
  2. Now wash vendi/okra properly and cut into pieces (almost 1.5 inches). Fry those vendi with turmeric powder and take them out.
  3. Now cut potatoes into small cubes, wash properly. Then fry the potato pieces with haldi and take them out.
  4. Now in the same pan add some mustard oil Add jeera, add tomato paste, add onion paste. Give them a cook. Now add salt to taste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and garam masala powder. Fry the spices for 3-4 min. Then add the besara and fry for 3-4 min on medium flame till the raw smell goes off. Then addd fried vendi and potato. Mix them well and then add one glass of water.
  5. Cover and cook till the potatoes are cooked. Finally the recipe is done to be served with hot steamed rice.
