- Take 100 gms rolled oats
- Provide 50 gms Moong dal
- Get 1 tsp Ginger paste
- You need 60 gms onion
- Take 50 gms peas

- Provide 50 gms carrot
- Get 30 gms French bean
- Take 2 green chillies
- Prepare 2 whole dry red Chillies
- Prepare 1/4 tsp whole Cummin seeds
- You need 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- You need 1/2 tsp Cummin powder
- Prepare 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
- Get as per taste Salt
- Use 3 tbsps veg oil
- Prepare 1/2 tbsp butter
- Use as per taste Salt
- Take 4.5-5 cups Approx. Hot water
- Take Garnishing
- Take as required Little coriander leaves chopped
- Prepare as required Little butter
Steps to make Oats Moong Dal khichdi:
- First wash the Dal and soak it for at least half an hour.
- In the meantime….Wash, peel and chop the vegetables.
- Heat oil in a pot and add whole dry chilli and then Cummin seeds. Once it starts crackling add the potato pieces saute it for few minutes.
- Then add ginger paste,saute it and add the chopped onion,saute it again for one or two minutes. Then add the carrot and saute for few minutes.
- Then add rest of the vegetables,saute it. Add the soaked Dal and saute it.
- Add salt,If required add little warm water and cook it nicely.
- After few minutes, add Turmeric, Cummin and coriander powder and give it a good mix. Add about 2 cups warm water and cover and cook for about 10 minutes.
- After the vegetables have softened and cooked, add the rolled oats and mix well, then add about 2 cups water, mix well. Add the green chillies and coriander too, cover and cook for 5-10 minutes.
- In between the cooking process add half table spoon butter too and continue cooking. Check salt. Stir it once or twice in-between. Once the oats gets cooked and your khichdi has thickened up, your Oats Moong Dal khichdi is ready. Serve it with a dollop of butter / ghee and coriander leaves with pickles etc.
