The ingredients needed to prepare Chicken rasam:
- Take 250 gm Chicken
- Prepare 4 Tomato
- You need 10 pods Garlic
- Prepare 1tsp red chilli powder
- Take 1 tsp tamarind paste
- Prepare 1 tsp jagerry powder
- Prepare 1tsp Rasam powder
- Prepare Aa needed Oil
- Use 2 pinch Hing or asafetida
- Prepare As needed Curry leaves
- Provide 1 tsp Panch phoran spices onion seed jeera fenugreek mustard saunf

- Take 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
Steps to make Chicken rasam:
- Put some oil in a nonstick pan and stirfry the chicken pieces using some salt and turmeric.
- Pressure cook the garlic tomato and red chiily for two whistles.cool it down and grind it into a fine paste.
- Keep aside fried chicken pieces.put 2tbsp oil in a pan add panch foran and curry leaves.when it crackles add hing then pour the tomato mixture.
- Bring it to boil then add chicken pieces.after sometime add tarmarind pulp rasam powder salt and jaggery powder.boil for some time.put some green chillies optional.when the gravy thickens. Switch off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves
Avoid browning the chicken by maintaining low-medium heat and moving the chicken parts and letting the rasam paste coat them. As the chicken rasam simmers, remove any greying matter that floats on top of the rasam water. Once chicken pieces are cooked, float on top then add earlier crushed pepper and garlic powder, mix it. For the tempering, heat oil in a pan add red chilies, turmeric powder, curry leaves, chopped coriander leaves, saute it. Pour this tempering into the chicken rasam, switch off the flame.
