Instructions to make Olive Oil Rice:
  1. Wash the basmati rice and add water as in the list. Soak for 15 mins. Place in rice cooker and do not turn the switch on.
  2. Add olive oil to a pan but do not heat it. Add cinnamon stick, cardamon, star anise, cloves,screwpine leaves. Turn on the fire(medium) and sauteed for 5 minutes. Add skimmed milk and continue the process for another 2 minutes. Turn the fire off. Set aside.
  3. Add the sauteed ingredients to the rice. Add salt and sugar. Turn on the rice cooker. Halfway during the cooking process, stir the rice lightly to balance the flavoring.
  4. Prepare the rose water by adding the saffron and yellow coloring. Add to the the rice with a straight line option. DO NOT STIR. Let the rice continue to it's cooking process.
  5. Once rice is fully cooked, add chopped dates or raisin and fried shallots. Allow rice to rest for 30 minutes before serve.
